Kansas is an 8 hour trip and Texas at minimum 16. We travel to Kansas and Texas a bit (KS 10-20 times a year and Texas 1-2 times) If the uconnect headsets die while driving all i have to do is switch headsets or pick up some batteries which alnost any gas station will have. He had other gaming devices but they always seem to be dead as well. My little one as a cheap tablet but it's always dead. Give then something fun to do other than watch Dino Dan it Lion King a billion times.

If it's the same than there is no pairing- if they headsets are in the beam of the IR transmitter (eg in the vehicle behind the front seat) then the headsets just work. Compared to newer noise cancelling headphones like the Shure AONIC 50 and Sony WH-1000XM4, the Bose noise cancelling has given up a little. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset has the same isolation and noise cancelling performance as the QC35 II, go figure. They might be so dark/opaque that they look black unless you use a flashlight. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II is an excellent set of noise canceling headphones.

Look on the side of the headsets for a semi opague red plastic window for the receiver (like for a tv remote control)- then in the past there were similar transmitting ir transmitters on/around the screens. In the past they all used infrared to transmit - that way could be directional and only work behind the front seats. I've had 4 sets of them from dodge/Chrysler over the years but dont have rear seat in my current Durango. Dont have specifics but some background that MIGHT help.
